SmartResort and Google partner to bring you the latest email technology
SmartResort is pleased to announce that we have formed a strategic partnership with Google to provide you with the latest email technology through Google's dynamic suite of communication applications. Some of the new features
you will enjoy with your new email system, powered by Google email, will include:
- Over 7 Gigabytes of email storage – A 20 fold increase over your current limit.
- Industry leading anti-spam features – Includes the ability to remove legitimate emails classified as spam to your inbox.
- Google Talk – Instant messaging system.
- Google Calendar
- Web Mail – Access email from any web browser
To ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, we want to let you know about changes to your service that will require attention on your part:
- Starting April 1, 2009, your password must be a minimum of 8 characters. If your password is already 8 characters or more then there will be no changes for you. If your password is less than 8 characters, we will
add the digit 2 repeatedly until your password reaches 8 characters. For example, if your current password is "apple" your new password will be "apple222".
- Starting April 1, 2009, to access your new email through a web browser please go to http://webmail.smartresort.com/ and enter your email and password. If you are using an email client such as Microsoft Outlook,
Thunderbird or Apple Mail, you will need to change your client settings. Please visit http://www.netfaqs.com/Google/configclients.asp for further instructions on updating your client settings.
Other aspects of your email service will remain the same:
- Each account will still have up to 5 email addresses.
- Your existing emails and address books will be available on the new system.
Your personal GMAIL account or your Internet connection are unchanged
